Persistence EdgeXtend is based on patented Persistence technology called Distributed Dynamic Caching. To put it in simple terms this is technology that has a two-fold purpose. In the first instance it allows conventional Application Servers (WebSphere and WebLogic) to operate (much) faster. In the second case it provides data replication and synchronisation at the Application Server
rather than at the database level. This has significant cost of ownership benefits when compared to the implementation of multiple data centres.
