In our white paper “Data Mastering: an 80/20 solution for MDM” we defined data mastering as the process of getting your master data ‘right’ and delivering ‘an agreed upon view’ of the business entities under consideration. In other words, ensuring that there is a single, valid, as up-to-date as possible, set of data that defines each customer, product, contract, location or whatever.

This paper is the second in a two part series of case studies, which complement our data mastering white paper, by examining the practical use and implementation of Silver Creek Systems’ semantically-based DataLens System in specific customer situations. Silver Creek Systems has customers across a range of industries and in the previous paper we focused on healthcare while, in this case, we will be focusing on the manufacturing sector and specifically on Emerson Network Power, a division of Emerson Corporation.
