Courion Corporation started out in provisioning and password management and has since built out a suite of products focused on risk-based identity and access governance and has become a competitor to the large identity and access management vendors.

Its focus is on delivering compliance-based, business-driven identity and access governance services with a suite of products built around intelligence and identity administration services.

Its core offerings have been built by Courion itself, although it relies on partners for some capabilities. Courion introduced services for SaaS applications in mid-2012, these being an extension of its on-premise capabilities to external applications, as well as users.
