Michael Capellas has now been CEO of Compaq for six weeks, following substantial losses and the resignation of former CEO Eckhard Pfeiffer. He and his executive team have been outlining their plans for carrying the company forward. Compaq is a well-known and respected brand in certain product sectors; the company has some strong but less well known products; it is also a significant service organisation. The present company results from major acquisitions such as Tandem and DEC added to the original PC company.
