Modeling tool vendor MEGA International is rightly proud that their customer, Co-operative Bank, has won the British Quality Foundation Achievement Award for process improvement.

Congratulations to the team at the co-op: it is great to see a customer of a modeling tool vendor able to shout about and be recognized for their success. Demonstrating the ROI of a modelling tool has always proved challenging. With awards like this then MEGA and other vendors can take heart that people do recognise the value of such tools.

Following the merger of the Co-operative Banking Group and Britannia in 2009, a bespoke approach to business and process improvement was developed called co-operative connect. As a result many transformational improvements, with significant positive financial impact, were introduced.

“We are honoured that our efforts have been recognized through this award,” said Peter Lycholat, business leader at co-operative connect. “Our focus is always on the customer, and we developed a programme to evaluate and improve our processes to provide an even higher level of service for customers.”

As part of the process improvement initiative, the MEGA Suite was adopted by The Co-operative Banking Group to be used in developing the bank’s business and process architecture strategy.
