Progress ESP (event stream processing) is based on what used to be the Apama
product, developed by the company of the same name, which was acquired by
Progress during the spring of 2005. Because the product is widely known within
the financial community under the Apama name it is continuing to be marketed
as the Progress Apama Algorithmic Trading Platform within that market but otherwise
it is known as the Progress ESP Platform.
