Sitrion

Analyst Coverage:

Sitrion provides tools that enable a ‘social enterprise’ environment, for the facilitation of collaborative process innovation and automation in large enterprises (a typical installation is over 100,000 users). Its target customers frequently already deploy Microsoft SharePoint or SAP solutions that they are not achieving the anticipated benefit and Sitrion’s claimed USP is the integration of existing collaboration silos into an engaged workplace.

Sitrion offers solutions for self-service HR, from the extension of SAP HR processes and an enterprise mobile
development environment which, it says, “enables companies to develop cross-platform secure mobile apps in minutes without spending a fortune on development projects”, using the micro-apps it has pioneered, which reduce the design & build process in app development to a few hours, requiring no special expertise.

Sitrion dates back to 2005 and now has offices worldwide, including the UK. The company’s global customer base includes leading brand names such as Barclays, Merck, Aviva, Diageo, Nokia and EADS. It has been named Microsoft Partner of the Year, Gartner Cool Vendor and Deloitte Fast500 at various points.

Sitrion was acquired by NewsGator in 2013, and NewsGator renamed itself Sitrion in 2014. Prior to its acquiring Sitrion, NewsGator had been expanding its cloud services and enterprise collaboration offerings (it acquired Tomoye in 2010). Daniel Kraft joined as CEO in 2012 and still holds this role today.

NewsGator was started in 2002 by Greg Reinacker as a pioneer in offering RSS as a mechanism for internal communications and knowledge or information management.
