Viamedici sells the EPIM software system, a multi-domain master data management product. The latest version, EPIM 5, was released in April 2024. This allows customers to combine data from their multiple source systems into a single trusted source, enabling this by providing extensive merge/matching and data quality validation capabilities.

For product data, the software is designed to store all the attributes that may be associated with a particular product, from bill of materials data of their components through to product images and descriptions, brochures, technical specifications and classifications. The software has extensive capabilities to manage these rich media digital assets. This includes syndication with connected systems such as eCommerce hubs and ERP systems like SAP, which is a partner of Viamedici. The software also allows dynamic product configuration, ideal for companies that want to provide customised product solutions to their clients.

The EPIM software runs on either cloud or on-premises. However, the majority of new customers are opting for the cloud offering. The software can run on Amazon AWS or Azure, as well as via a private Viamedici cloud or via a managed software as a service. In the latter case, the software is provided via a container, and the data stays local to the customer but the software can be managed remotely by the vendor. The product provides a functionally rich set of master data management capabilities. It connects to a wide range of source systems and has extensive data validation and cleansing capability along with merge/matching to eliminate duplicates. The software includes AI-driven pattern recognition to spot candidate duplicate records.

The product has an elaborate workflow capability and is engineered for high throughput and performance, supporting multi-parallel processing. As well as managing master data, there is extensive capability to build product data classification models. There is an AI-driven assistant that can improve productivity in doing this, and the vendor has various industry-specific templates to help customers install and configure the product quickly. The product has extensive multi-lingual capability, recently extended with the release of a generative AI interface that can carry out text translation into many languages, which is a common requirement for product marketing across international borders. It also provides an AI Hub which can be used to leverage numerous domain-specific AI applications available in the market.

A recent addition is a sustainability engine designed to handle numerous sustainability requirements including ESG reporting, Digital Product Passport and Environmental Product Declarations. All these look at carbon footprint calculations, classification of raw materials in products, and forever chemicals that are contained within a product. This information is maintained in the MDM Dashboard and technologies such as blockchain and AI are used for verification and authentication.

Viamedici has a well-proven and highly scalable technology that supports hundreds of manufacturing customers, including several very large ones, some with billions of data records. The EPIM software is particularly well suited to dealing with very complex product classifications and companies that have extensive digital assets associated with products, such as brochures, safety data etc as well as normal product descriptions and images.

Viamedici has a proven footprint in the manufacturing industry but is expanding into several other industry sectors. The vendor competes with other master data management technologies with a similar heritage and focus, including Stibo and Informatica.
