This is the third iteration of this particular paper. Previous editions explored the options for financial analysis and reporting in JD Edwards Enterprise One and World environments. This version extends that discussion. While the distinctive features of financial reporting are re-iterated (briefly) from the previous version of this paper the focus is on enterprise performance management (EPM). There is an initial discussion about the business benefits accruing from implementing EPM in financial environments, and it then considers the different options available: spreadsheets (with plug-ins), report writing tools, business intelligence products – which are typically used in conjunction when constructing EPM-based capabilities – and purpose-built solutions.
