Corporate IS departments and IT companies are well positioned to take the lead in this area. Out of necessity they have to address staff and skill shortages. Out of habit, where IS departments are often trailblazers for new, positive ideas, and finally, out of very survival: IS departments must actively fend off the Facilities Management threat by becoming the IT provider of choice for their customers.
