Technically, the Year 2000 problem is easy to explain and similarly easy, in individual instances of it, to fix. For various historical reasons we won't go into, dates have traditionally been represented in computer systems in the form YYMMDD or YYDDD, In both cases, the year is represented by two digits, the century value being assumed; the assumed value being 19. Thus far, in the still brief history of computers, there hasn't been a change of century so this has not mattered. That is part of the technical problem.Copyright & Privacy | Contact Us
