GoldenGate

GoldenGate describes its eponymous product as being about “transactional data management”. What this means, according to the company, is that it provides the “guaranteed capture, routing, transformation, delivery and verification of data transactions across heterogeneous environments in real time.” But what does this mean in business terms? In practice, GoldenGate targets two markets: high availability and disaster tolerance; and real-time data integration. We will discuss each of these in turn.
