Governments are under pressure to expand the services that they offer to citizens through online channels in an increasingly interactive and open manner. However, with governments around the world facing pressure to control costs, many are finding that they must strive to achieve greater collaboration and transparency in back office functions to reduce inefficiencies and provide greater transparency into operations. This requires that they take a risk-based approach, placing an emphasis on privacy and security concerns to ensure that communications with citizens are secure and that those citizens can trust the authenticity of services offered in order to drive greater take up of services offered online and to drive greater efficiency into their operations.
