IDS Scheer to become an “Early Partner” for SAP Business ByDesign

IDS Scheer announced on January 14th 2008 that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SAP America Inc. This Memorandum is concerned with supporting SAP in its efforts to build a partner ecosystem and distribution model for SAP® Business ByDesign.

Formally introduced on September 19, 2007, SAP Business ByDesign is an on-demand business software solution aimed at midmarket customers. SAP has based Business ByDesign on its service oriented architecture system. It is offered as a solution for companies that have never used ERP software. SAP hopes that the service will appeal to a new demographic of businesses that are too large for its entry-level Business One offering, but are not yet large enough to consider its Business All-In-One ERP suite. To make this a success, SAP need to grow their partner network

IDS Scheer has various partnerships with SAP. In the midmarket, the company has been an SAP Business All-in-One partner since 1998. SAP America, a subsidiary of SAP AG, has consistently honored IDS Scheer with the highest customer satisfaction ratings for the past seven consecutive years. For IDS Scheer, selection as one of the “early partners” of the newly introduced on-demand business software solution presents an opportunity to participate in the development of the business models at an early stage. This announcement appears to more firmly link IDS Scheer to the SAP band-wagon – very lucrative one at that! Couple this with IDS Scheer’s link to Microsoft and you have a very interesting scenario occurring in the Mid-market, which is where Microsoft Dynamics has always had its strength. IDS Scheer can gain from both horses – very neat!
